A Guide to This Season’s Trendiest Colors and Matching Flowers

When we think of fall colors our mind typically goes to yellow, orange, red, and brown hues. As the leaves change into these beautiful colors and the fall foliage creates a stunning landscape, our home decor and fashion trends reflect the change of season, too. While they are often influenced by the natural tones of Mother Nature, every year we see new color trends to help brighten up the tone of fall. This year, Pantone is predicting unique color trends for the 2021 fall and winter, and here at Bagoy’s Florist, the best flower shop in Anchorage, we are pairing these hues with our favorite flowers.

Pantone’s Fall Color Trends & Your Favorite Fall Flowers

Green Hues

Many fall colors and tones are inspired or revolve around what we see outside. Green grass, shrubs, bright leaves ready to turn, and stems on pumpkins. This year, Pantone is also buzzing about “olive branch” and “leprechaun” greens setting a fresh, uplifting, and lucky mood. Find these hues in floral arrangements with eucalyptus, hydrangea, succulents, and orchids.

Blue Hues

Blue is a favorite color for just about any season throughout the year. In the fall, we tend to enjoy deep blues that complement a deep green. Autumn 2021 is celebrating blue in all of its hues, from Pantone’s “rhodonite” and “Mykonos blue” to “spring lake.” Spotting your most-admired blue flowers in autumn bouquets is easy as some are filled with blue hydrangea, blue delphinium, blue asters, blue irises, blue thistle flower, and blue orchids.

Yellow Hues

Yellow is a staple in any autumn color palette, especially Pantone’s “illuminating yellow.” As this uplifting and cheerful color paints turning leaves and fall crops, like corn and squash, it is also a trending tone for home decor and fall fashion. You can bet to see your favorite yellow fall flowers in seasonal bouquets, like sunflowers, mums, daisies, roses, Craspedia billy balls, and gladiolus.

Pink Hues

With summer coming to a close, many assume that pink tones such as fuchsia and blush have seen their days. However, Pantone has a different plan for 2021 as their “fuchsia fedora” and “pale rosette” have earned their spot on this fall’s trending colors list. Graceful, flirty, fun, and sweet, pink gives a new perspective to autumn tones. Since these colors are here to stay, roses, alstroemeria, gerbera daisies, calla lilies, peonies, and carnations can be found in your favorite seasonal arrangements.

Red Hues

Wrapping yourself in a warm red plaid scarf, blanket, and flannel while picking red delicious apples is what fall is all about. With these red hues in mind, Pantone has listed “fire whirl” on its list of trendy fall tones. In addition to cozy materials, red roses, mums, and carnations will also do the trick in getting your space ready for autumn.

White Hues

A crisp and clean contrasting hue or one that creates a minimalist hygge feeling is Pantone’s “soybean” or “coconut cream.” These off-white tones rival the old “no white after Labor Day” rule, and we are loving it. From white pumpkins and faux fur to white flowers including lilies, anemone, orchids, carnations, hydrangea, roses, and daisies, there is nothing better to create a clean, stunning, and inviting home for the fall.

Brown Hues

The chocolate in your s’mores, wood burning in a fireplace, an afternoon coffee to warm up, and the natural tones of tree stumps and wooden signs are why brown is a classic fall color. Providing warmth and comfort, Pantone has suggested its “root beer” and “adobe” hues are big players in this year’s color trends. We might agree as they are added to seasonal floral bouquets in the form of accents including the inside of blooms like sunflowers, decorative sticks and dried leaves, and lotus pods.

Fall flower arrangements are just as breathtaking, fresh, and fabulous as spring and summer flower arrangements. They provide natural and living decor for your home to truly liven up and freshen up your home. We are certain that you will find the perfect autumn blooms here at Bagoy’s Florist to match the trends of the season and seamlessly blend into your home decor.
