On December 15, Wreaths Across America holds its annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, with many other locations across the country joining them in the tribute. In that spirit, we here at Bagoy’s Florist & Home are honored to encourage our customers to consider making their own meaningful rituals to commemorate and honor the veterans and other loved ones in their lives who won’t be here to celebrate the holidays. It’s a great way to feel connected to family and friends who are on our minds during a season that truly celebrates both.
The national initiative was designed to pay respect to vets but also to acknowledge that feeling of home and family, which can often make the loss of someone feel even more acute. To that end, a simple, graceful wreath-laying ceremony or the like can go a long way to making us feel connected to everyone who has been important in our lives. A classic wreath style like our Christmas Traditions makes the perfect tribute to place at a grave site or other meaningful site. It’s hardy, rustic and the red bow nods to both the holidays and patriotism.
Consider an intimate ritual to honor the contributions of a loved one this season. It’s a wonderful way to acknowledge everyone in the family.
